becoming everything you were created for
This world entices you to fulfill your cravings, desires and longings, to drench in instant dopamine hits, and drown yourself in a world full of self-seeking pleasures. We are advised to run away from evil, but what if it feels like every direction you try and run is surrounded by evil. When your spiritual eyes are opened to the routine, mundane you see things you have never seen before, you tend to second guess normalcy, and question every intention, action and activity. Even if you try and get out of the cycle, you seem to somehow end up being dragged back in. There are days it feels like it's an unending maze, a questionable goal to even move out of this pit, but the love of God can never leave you where you are. And that's why the constant battle in your mind, the one that lifts your shield and sword when you are too weak to even stand, is the Holy Spirit that Jesus left with us here on earth.
When you doubt, look to Him. He is the oasis in this desert stricken land - a land dead and devoid of real, true, authentic life. The world creates a mirage of living life to the fullest, but it's the one that makes you the emptiest. Jesus is the fountain of life, the one that satisfies your soul, embraces you and teaches you that you don't live to satisfy your flesh, your desires. You live to love the way God has loved you and you can only do that when you step in and open your eyes to the love God has already showered upon you.
